The Profile NFT

The Profile NFT is the main object in the Base Protocol. It is the ownership of this NFT that allows you to control its content. Personal addresses have ProfileNFTs, and an address can contain multiple ProfileNFTs. What sets Base Profile NFTs apart from other on-chain identities is the ability to issue publications to them. The Profile NFT contains a history of all posts, Quotes, comments, and other content you generate.

Additionally, the profile NFT contains a FollowModule. This module contains logic that allows the issuance of different Follow NFT accounts to register their relationship with the main configuration file on-chain.

Profiles can only be created by addresses that have been whitelisted by governance. This ensures that the namespace is not reserved by squatters given the low-fee environment that exists on multichain.
